- Always
keep your heels down and your toes up, otherwise you will
fall over.
- Drop
your weight onto your heels instead of the football.
- Your
ear, hip, and heels must be in a straight line.
- Wear
comfortable riding shoes otherwise it will be difficult
to relax your heels.
- Always
mount the horse from the left side as this is the way most
horses are trained.
- If
you want to get down take both your feet out of the stirrips.Put
your hands on the saddle in front; then lean forward and
take your right leg and put it over the backside of the
horse. Jump off.
- Never
pull on the reigns or the horse will throw you off.
- Always
ride a horse that is right for your build. Don't ride a
too large horse or a too small horse.
- Make
sure the horse is trained for beginners.
